How fast is my setup capable of?

I have a 96 Trans am, M6. No weight reduction. Full bolt-ons. Torque arm, lower control arms, panhard rod. Running 315's in the rear on 17inch TTII's with BFG's.

Pacesetter LT's w/ OR Y-Pipe, cutout
Basically running Lloys old LE1 setup with the cam being the same as what Joe use to grind for the LE1's(22x/23x)
1.6RR's
30# inj.
52mm TB
Cloyes Double Roller w/ electric WP

I ran something like a 13.3 with a 2.01 60ft with full bolt-ons and shortys w/cats. Didnt have any suspension mods, and tires were sorta worn out.

Re: How fast is my setup capable of?

Im running about the same setup, and after sticky tires and QA1s i plan on going high 11s.

With your current setup i think mid 12s are probebly what your looking at, the tq arm and LCAs will help with traction, but adjustable shocks (QA1s) would help alot more.

Re: How fast is my setup capable of?

Thanks for the reply. My car, with what i mentioned in my post, went 13.3 @103 with a 2.01 60ft without the suspension mods and bald Nitto's. The car was capable of going at best high 12's with a decent 60ft. I only ran it once and pulled a 13.3 Im definately expecting better then mid 12 timeslips after a set of LE1 heads are installed and a nice Joe O cam as well as Longtubes and an offroad y-pipe. Im looking at anywhere from 350-380hp at best to the wheels with a nice tune. I think its capable of better then mid 12's wouldnt you say? -Matt

Re: How fast is my setup capable of?

Probebly low 12s, but alot will be in your 60' and how well you can drive a stick.

A friend of mine went 11.76 on a setup similiar to the LE1, but it was in an auto. Ive pretty much resigned myself to feeling that a setup is always going to be a few tenths slower infront of a manual as opposed to an auto. But the manual will trap higher.

Tho there are guys out there who can drive a manual very well.

Your going to need a 12bolt and heavy clutch to get there tho.
