How far off is the stock tach?

Has anyone measured or had a stock tach that was off? I think mine maybe off especially in the upper RPMs.

Has anyone ever varified exactly how much its off?

Mine used to read 1000 rpm at idle, after indiglo gauge install I set it at 900 for idle since that was the most mentioned idle speed that I've read in past posts.

For my 3 dyno pulls i tried to let off at 6000 rpm (i was driving) and the computer also indicated 6000. So it seemed mine was pretty good. I was actually expecting it to be off though.

Yeah ive noticed when I manually shift at ~5800rpms it doesnt feel as fast and leaving it in D... since the auto shifts past 6K on the tach Mine must be off about the same as you guys.
