how easy to jack up motor for LT install???
im in the process of my hooker LT's!! drivers side is in, and im working on the pass. side now. i cant seem to get the darn thing in there!! seems like it needs another 1/2" of space right next to the tranny in order to slide into place. ive tried wiggling it around many ways, but i keep ending up in the same spot where the spot right before the collector keeps rubbing against the tranny!! so my question is.... is it pretty simple to jack up the one side of the motor?? just undo the one motor mount and start jacking i assume?! just seems like it will prolly be a HUGE pain getting the mounth lined back up to get the bolt through
i guess i really have no choice!!
also.... before i get the header in..... what wires really need to be moved or re-routed?? thanks in advance for the help! cant wait to get this thing done!!!

i remember reading the hook install guide(b/c)these are also the header i plan on getting, and it says the same thing, it says that the car must be jacked up and then the pass. side will just slide right in.....anyother problems with those??or your 2cents about them...b/c im still seriously considering them....
yeah it fits from the bottom if u jack the whole car up, read it ina guide somewhere.....im am also considering buy these myself seriously...you have any input on istallation or quality of them...your 2cents maybe?
thanks
thanks
Jack up the motor on one side. It is much easier that way and you won't scratch your high temp coating up. Just put a flat piece of wood between the jack and the oil pan and lift it up until you can get the header in. It helps to have a second person to get that motor mount bolt back in, but working by yourself I think you could do it with some patience. While you have it off the mount put in poly mounts!
As far as rerouting wires: On the drivers side, pull your ABS harness tight against the fender so it doesn't have any slack and use the factory clip to keep it there. On the passenger side, reroute your ABS harness so that it goes by the swaybar endlink and the PS resevoir to keep it out of harm's way. The harness with the starter/O2/KS wires can be routed along the aluminum lines on the side of the fender or other ways, so long as they stay away from the header tubes. Do a search on this topic and you should find more specific instructions. It's not a bad idea to put reflective DEI material on your heater box as well, but that may be overkill. I'm not sure if others have done that or not these days. It used to be standard MAFB protocol.
HTH!

thanks for all the help! i finally got the header in! i didnt even have to undo the motor mount. i just took the bolt out from the tranny mount, and jacked up the tranny like a 1/2".... and i was able to bang the header right into place!!
im thrilled that i got both of them in! just cant wait till i get my computer back from bryan at pcmforless so i can start her up!!!
