How does vaccum flow on the PCV system

I just want to make sure i have my check valve hooked up in the right direction. I pulled off the hose to the PCV valve and didn't feel any vaccum. I didnt check the other side of the check valve to see if it had vaccum. Is the vaccum source on the front of the intake or is it at the valve on the side? Thanks

Re: How does vaccum flow on the PCV system

Fresh air will enter through the throttle body and go into the passenger's side valve cover. The PCV valve will let the crankcase air out on the driver's side of the intake. The PCV valve will get it's vacuum from a port a little rear of the PCV valve. So if you unhook the vacuum line going to the PCV valve there should be suction on the hose but, not on the actual PCV valve.

On a 1995, the PCV gets it's vacuum from a port on the intake manifold just below the TB.
