I won't be driving my z28 vert in winter so is it worth it to get mac jet hot coated or not. How bad is the factory coating. Is factory just paint?
You guys with jet hot macs would you bother with it if you bought them again?

Get the coating. The HTS on the mac's is garbage. You will scrape the hell out of it when you install the headers alone and then they will rust no matter if it is in winter or not. Not to mention that the coating helps keep engine temps waaaaay down. It is worth the money.

I have MAC midlengths and got them coated. The only problem that i have right now is that on the bottom of the Y pipe, the coating is starting to flake off. But i have had them for over 3 years and the headers are perfect still.

Get the coating. HTS is worthless as stated above. Otherwise nice headers. I just finished installing a set.
