How do you test the ICM and coil?

How would I test to see if the ICM and coil were good?

I check with an ohm meter and it showed 5500 ohms across all of the points on the coil.

Take the ICM to OReily's, they can test it.
As for the coil, I've been told it either works or it doesnt... but its not that expensive to replace anyways.

Coil is easy, unplug the spark plug wire from the distributor and put that end towards a ground, crank the car and if it sparks a nice blue spark and gives you a jolt, its good.

I already told you how to check them. ICM gets ground on one wire. 2 other wires are connected to the coil and will have 12 volts on them. The 4th wire from the PCM(usually white) will have 1-4 volts AC when the engine is cranking.

Finish your homework and get back to me.
