how do you check for a leaky injector?

how do you check for a leaky injector?

how do you diagnose a leaky injector? i have a hard start condition that seems to be time related and a misfire.

Take the rail bolts loose and leave all the injectors connected to the rail. Pull them up and out of the intake so you can see the bottom of them. Let them dangle over the holes in the intake. Pressurize the fuel rail with the key or the prime connector. Observe the bottom of the injectors to see if any of them are dripping.

uhh what would happen uhhh if you tried to crank the motor when the injectors were out

It might start for a second, but would die because of the huge vacuum leak.

ok

so would you do the same but take off the coil wire and try to start the car to check for clogged injectors?

The best thing to do is to jumper 12v to the fuel pump prime connector. That will run the pump continuously while it is jumpered. The key does not have to be ON. Your fuel rail will be fully pressurized and you can look for leaking.
