How do I tell if I have a Series 2 or 3 Carrier ?

Hi
I have a 94 TA automatic with factory 3.23 gears. They are shot and I would like to upgrade to 3.73
How do I tell if I have a Series 2 or 3 carrier ?
Thanks

If the rear has never been modified you have a 3 series carrier.

I beleive that 3.23 gears and up are a 3 sereis carrier, anything lower is a 2 sereis carrier. The ring gear on a 2 series carrier is a little thicker.

Where you at Mopac in Calgary around noon today?

There was a guy in there that was having the same issues. If so, the one you had with the tooth broken off was the thin one and was from a 3 series carrier. The thick one they had on the counter was for a 2 series.

Yah, thought it might be because he had the exact same car and question as you. LOL, ah well.
