If you're really ****, you can remove all the spark plugs, put just a few drops of engine oil through the spark plug hole, remove the fuel injector fuses in the underhood box and crank the motor over for maybe 15 seconds, pause for a few seconds then crank it again. You might see a little bit of oil pressure climb up on the gauge or you might not. At this point you can put the plugs back in, put the fuel injector fuses back in and start the car.

I'd warm it up fully and immediately change the oil and give the whole car a good once over.

Or you can skip everything he said and just unplug the 8 injectos and start it, then change the oil.

Pulling 2 fuel injector fuses > unplugging 8 injectors.

I wouldnt be pulling the plugs if it only sat for 6 months.

Pull injector fuse, crank it a little, then put the fuse in and fire it up

Re: How do i safeley start my Z?

I recently did this for a friend. My process was to change the oil, pull the injector and coil wire, then turn the engine over a few times until I saw oil p[ressure on the gause. I then connected the injectors, turned it over for a few seconds, then connect the coil. Car started with minimal problems. I had to hold the throttle open for a few minutes until it wouls idle without stalling.

Re: How do i safeley start my Z?

Thanks for the replys evreyone. I got an additional question about the changing the oil thing. I got the car with 26k on the odo last year and i immediatley changed the oil..... Didnt really need it but i was bein dumb. Well i didnt know what type of oil was in it so i said screw it and got Castrol Syntec. Well i ended up finding out she was running on dino oil. I heard changing is bad.. So should i go back to regular oil or stick to synthetic? (I put about 1000 miles on it useing the synthetic.) Thanks guys

Re: How do i safeley start my Z?

I would think at 26K you are fine to stay with syntec, you just don't want to switch on a high milage car. I did the same when I bought my Z which had 32K on it. I never had a problem. I pulled the motor apart at 82K when I built my 383, never had a drop on oil under the car and the internal engine and oil screen were perfectly clean.
