How Do I Protect My Wiring ?
OK I HAVE HOOKER LT ON MY 97Z AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MY WIRING HARNESS RUNNING TO THE COMPUTER IS UP AGAINST MY HEADER.. FOR NOW I HAVE THAT THICK ORANGE RUBBER PROTECTOR IN BETWEEN THEM.. IS THAT ENOUGH OR WILL THAT STUFF WEAR AWAY. I WAS TOLD IT WAS TOP OF THE LINE STUFF...THANKS
SLP sales some heat wrap stuff that I bought and it has worked great. My wires weren't touching the header but were very close so I went ahead and order the heat sleeve stuff from SLP...
Here's a link to what I'm talking about...
http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...RTNUMBER=30101
I cut them straight down the middle to be able to get it around the harness and the folded it around and put some zip-ties around the sleeve. And everything has been fine. I didn't really feel like it would have been a problem without it being on there but, just wanted to be on the safe side...

Your local auto stores may also carry an assortment of heat tapes, which might be suitable as well!
Now that you have an answer, may I please be near-rude about a couple of things? Thanks!
1) Capital letters equate to shouting at everyone.
2) Bumping your own post every 15 minutes, is rude.
Sorry to be pointing these out!

I thought maybe a touch of posting class, would allow you to get the replies faster -thereby helping you out.
I also answered the question, but in your wanton blood lust, you may have overlooked my helpful tip.
Again; So sorry for trying to allow you to help yourself get more and quicker positive responses. It truly is something I now wish I had never done.
[edited out my childish anger - I suppose I should at least attempt the high road here.]

Yes, I should be sorry. I posted the tips knowing that people react to polite forum posting more readily than the rude garbage.
