Check the RPO codes. If it's a stock rear and you have a GU5 on the sticker in the glove box it's 3:23 If it's not stock you may have to take the rear apart and count.

GU2: 2.73
GU4: 3.08
GU5: 3.23
GU6: 3.42

here's some more rpo codes:

You DON'T have to take the rear apart to see what's inside. I don't know the details right off-hand but it has to do with jacking up the car and counting revolutions on the wheel versus the driveshaft ~I think~ Someone will post up here soon with the correct answer, but I DO know you don't have to tear it apart to find out...

I have the GU5 or 3.23 gears. I want to go lower. Do I have the series 2 or 3 carrier? I have been pricing gears at around $200.00. Is this a good price?? How much should I expect to pay for labor? Thanks for the help!!

You want a higher gear ratio like 3.73 or 4.10 right?? I think I paid like 200$ or something to get my 4.10's installed, but they whine. You may want to make sure the installer set's them right, and get his word or writing. I'm going to have to pay some more bones to get mine set right to reduce the gear whine. It's annoying, trust me.

I wouldn't go any higher than 3.73 for a street car. 4.10's for your auto as a daily driver would suck.

It's not too bad. I tach about 2300 at cruizin @ 75. My speedo's off so it's actually 70 or so. But the whine gets annoying. I need to get em' set again.
