How do i get to 350 RWHP with hotcam
So i did a lot of searching and didnt quite come up with what i wanted. So heres my thread.. I have a 94 Z28 with 33k mi on the clock and im wanting to put around 350 hp (no more and no less) to the ground. I read that the hotcam kit is around 300 hp alone with factory everything. My car has the SLP CAI and a hooker catback and a 4L60E transmission. I am keeping my heads stock, and i am set on the LT4 hotcam kit due to its price. I have read that most hotcam + bolt-on cars are putting around 330 RWHP. So what exactly needs to happen to get 350 RWHP?
If its any help, this car is my DD so it has to be VERY streetable and it has to pass emissions aswel. Thanks

i doubt very seriously you will attain that goal (350whp) with stock heads your key to power is exactly there in the heads at that point. i would also use the cc503 over the hotcam price vs.power 80.00 extra well worth it in my book!
Without heads I don't think it's possible and my car is a good example for you to use since the Crane 104227 is a tad smaller than a hotcam. The most additional HP I would get with long tubes is probably 20 at the wheels. If everything else was perfect and you had an M6 you might just get there.
do all the bolt ons possible, you might hit it. long tubes, full exhaust, cam and valvetrain, E-waterpump, dynotune, port the intake, bigger TB, descreen and port MAF, and make sure the car is in good shape. with good tuning and setup correctly, you might be able to get real close to 350.
Please do not port the MAF, get it tuned properly!
350 to the wheels is doable, even with the HOT cam but I think there are some other cams out there that can make it happen and give you a little extra umph. the A4 is going to eat up some of the power so get you a GOOD Torq Conv (Vig or YANK). And just for the dyno get the highest gear you can but on the track or road you will want 3.73s minimum but can be done with the 3.23 or 2.73s.
It can be done if you try real hard....

It has been done with the hotcam before, but not very often. Actually, I dont think I've ever seen or heard of someone making 350 through an A4 with the hotcam. If 350rwhp is what you're looking for, there are cams out there that are much more likely to get you there under most conditions.
Yeah mine only made 325rwhp thru an automatic with the Hotcam kit and boltons 3yrs ago, so to make another 25rwhp you will need a bigger engine ie more cubes(383,396) ported heads or a bigger cam. Goodluck
mild cam, e.g. 227 or 503
1.6 RRs w/ springs
valve pocket job (at the very min) full port better
MId headers since you probably can't go with LTs
CAI
Tune
This should get you around 340 +-
To go fast, you will need larger conveter and probably 7.73 gears. JMHO
Of the small cams, I'd advise going with the 227 if you can afford it.
Easy to tune, stock idle, stump pulling low end.

That's pretty good for the Hot Cam....12.3's was that on stock heads??What other bolt on's?? did you have to change inj...TB.?? what exh...??? I'd like to know, i'm in the process of building somthing simular..
