How do I drive this thing?

Hey guys,

Just raced for the first time tonight at NED the results were kinda sad but i had fun. Now i need some help, i want to start getting some good times b4 i start really modding it out. I couldn't get the tires under control off the line either I spun or i just slowly crawled off the line. I was feathering the gas and clutch in hopes of not spinning to much, but that didn't seem to work so hot... Its a M6 so i could use some advice on how to get better 60's.... my times are below:

BEST: 60': 2.327 - 1/4: 14.33 - MPH: 99.4

consistant: 60': 2.45sec - 1/4: 14.44sec - MPH: 99.46

It was really humid too

you need some sticky tires in the rear. I have good luck reving it up to about 3-3.5k and dropping the clutch.

Well your traps are good so your car seems to be running strong. Better tires would help out a lot to get those 60's down. But that depends on what your running with now. I would say for your first time its really not that bad.

If you're running regular street tires try dropping the PSI to around 20 or so and see how that goes. Don't drop it too low though, you might throw the tire off the bead and/or you could hurt your MPH, so I would say no lower than 18 PSI on the rears.

I have an A4 and I stall it up just a tad and then feather the throttle off the line, you just kinda walk it off the line dancing between spin and hook until your outta the hole.
M6 is a whole nother ballgame, unless you have sticky enough tire to just rev it up to 3 grand and drop the clutch.

just get some slicks or et street... rev er to about 3500 and dump the clutch... or as high as you can go without spinning... but with those tires they should hold on a stock m6 at 3500

you need to beef up your rearend tho... or you'll blow it

On street night NED is traction challeged. You get more traction on the street than the strip!! You did much better than I did my firts time out! With some good cool air and some tires you'll see a big improvement as well.

Hey thanks guys, I feel much better now, i guess i should try to bring it up to 3k and drop the clutch. I was running with BFG-KDW at 30psi. I figure next time I will bring them down to 20-25psi. I was happy with my traps, it must mean i have plenty of power for a mostly stock camaro

Any other sugestions are welcome!!!

THanks, Matt
