How do I do a complete coolant flush?
I want to do a complete coolant flush on my car. Engine block and all. I plan on flushing the heater core while i'm at it. My car is a '93, Can anyone give me complete details on how its done?
when i did mine i just unscrewed the plug completely out of the rad and drained the fluid, then i pulled the steam line and heter core line and ran the garden hose through them for about 5 miniutes each and refilled with dex cool. i didnt use any water in the coolant because i didnt know how much water the block holds. if you want the exact right mixture you would have to find out how much coolant the whole system holds and add half that much coolant and the rest water.

16 qts, maybe?I just use a bucket, then transfer that into some other large container for proper disposal.
