How do I Complete the TB Bypass

This is my first post on the site though I've been reading it since 99 or so. I see all these guys talking about bypassing there throttle body and other free mods. Where do I find info. on this?

Also how much will I gain by this? Any help would be appreciated.

they make kits for it but all its doing is bypassing coolant from the TB.... basically what you need is a short piece of hose and some unions or you can buy some aluminum fuel line and do it that way and just disconnect the coolant hoses from the TB and then hook them together so that you dont have a coolant leak,,, i have heard and read upto 8 rwhp

Here's a link for your reference. It's a true free mod, meaning no fitting is required but it will make your life a little easier if you use a fitting.

Just to clarify a bit, 93-4 need the hose barb, and 95-7 do not..

i just finished my tb bypass yesterday and i have a 95 and it was a pita to et the outlet hose (90 degree) one off the tb. it took a while because thet clamp wasnt on right and you have no room to do it! but yeah they net 6-8 rwhp on the dyno. i think the fbody site dynoed a ta that gained 6.something hp!

That's weird. People on other forums claimed they did a TB bypass on their 94 without any barbed fitting.

Got links?I'd like to see that...
MY 94 doesn't use a 'barb', but I updated hoses to 95-7 configuration [ I think it is better]
I did have to use a barb before I did that though..
I'd like to see a pic of a 93-4 done w/o a connector..[the hoses won't reach]

As quoted by RamAir95TA (he's a member here too):
I've done the bypass on a friends 94, and his coolant setup was the same as mine, as we did not need to use a barb.

Thanks for the info. I believe the 7-8 rwhp. I just finished it on my 96 (with no barb) and I can feel a little difference, just a little. It was easy once I decided to take the TPS off to get to the clamp. Access is a little tight I also took of the alternator mounting brackets. All in allfairly easy. Thank again for the info and if anybody has anymore suggestions for free mods plese fill me in.

The only way a 94 hose routing was the same as a 95 is if they were changed[ like I have done] to later configuration.
I have never seen a 93-4 with 95-7 configuration stock..

Look here [from shoebox'] site at the differences:

For 93-4:
http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/93-94_hoses.jpg
[note hose 14, that has a weird 'tee' to it, and clamp 13 that connects the smaller tee'd hose to the drivers side TB]

http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/93-94_hoses.jpg
Note hose 9 that goes from the 'bleeder TEE' to psgr side TB.
Also note that to connect the 2 hoses a connector is needed.[If you see another way to do it feel free]

95-7:
http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/95-97_hoses.jpg
Note hoses 4 and 5 [of which 4 on psgr side TB to 'steam pipe' to rear of heads is removed, and discarded, and hose 5 is disconnected from drivers side of TB and reconnected to the 'steam pipe'. Obviously no connector needed.

This is how it is, [again unless a 93-4 is changed to 95-7 configuration ] and plainly seen in the diagrams.

I am sure, however, that I am not the only one that has 'updated' the early to the later configuration.
Especially since the Goodyear Hi Miler set, for instance, only comes with the 95-7 setup.[it is also missing one hose, of the 11 total needed, an engineering error by Goodyear]

I just recently pulled my TB and put in a new TPS and IAC and since it was out I went and did the coolant bypass, Thanks to B&M I already had my barbed connector (came with my tranny cooler) I routed it in front of the water pump so if some reason it started leaking it would not take out my opti.
Rather easy mod if you remove the TB first.

I used one on my 94. I also replaced half of the hose to be able to route it closer to the radiator.
