The temperature guage sensor is not connected to the PCM so you can disconnect it without any problem. It is located on the left side in the head just under the exhaust manifold between the front two spark plugs.

The reading for the guage comes from a sensor in the driver side head. Just unplug it and that will keep the needle at 0. Why do you want to do this?

The PCM will still know the temp, because it gets its reading from another sensor (in or near the waterpump I believe.)
