How to cut out the AIR crossover tube?!
Hi guys,
I am going !AIR following my cam install, because my AIR pump sounds like a 747 coming in for a landing, and I personally think it's a useless piece of hardware. I figure if an Impala SS LT1 can go without it, according to factory specs, then so can my car...
Anyway, so there's this hard line that goes down under and back up to the passenger side. I've cut it in 2 places and I still can't get it out... It goes back behind a bunch of stuff where I can't even see it. I can pull and it doesn't budge. It's loosely wiggling back there, but due to its shape or something, it just wont' come out...
HELP!
Thanks,
Michael

I removed my whole air system last winter when I did the cam, that crossover tube was a bit of a pita to get out. I cut off the stuff on the passenger side first down around the header. The hard part about the rest of it is it's clamped to the block (or a/c compressor, not sure) down near the a/c compressor. It was a u shaped clamp that you can pry it out of. After that and some yanking it finally came out in just two peices. If you aren't going to save it for anything a little more cutting of the tube would probably be even easier
