How to convert a 1993 LT1 to 94-95 PCM?

I have been told this would be a good thing to do for a 93 LT1 i am planning to drop into my 89 IROC, but am wondering how hard/involved and how much it will cost

also, advantages?

Don't bother. The 93 isn't a bad setup and it has its advantages.
It's much more complicated than you think.

You'll need a 94 harness, you will need 94+ heated oxygen sensors, you will need to swap the bottom plate on the TB for the IAC to work. (different on 93s), you will need harness modifications, etc.

I've done everything BUT the harness mods. I didn't have the wiring diagrams of the 93 at the time so I gave up. I might try it later if I also decide to convert my '93 to a 4L60E. (but I doubt it)

EDIT: I just noticed this is for a swap. If you'll be using a painless harness and will have to do some rewiring anyway, then yes, you could give it a try if you really want to. The problem I had is with a 94 engine in a 93 body. The connectors inside the car matched but the wires were in different spots.

might want to think about swapping the intake/fuel rails too. Injectors are smaller on 93's too I believe, you would need the mass air sensor also. computer, knock sensor, wiring harness obviously too.

The knock sensor is the same... The injectors were 22 lb/hr, so you'll either have to go with some PCM programming or swap to 24s. You can still run in speed density mode (no MAF) with the 94+ PCM but it wil set a service engine light and the fans will stay on all the time if the PCM isn't been programmed for it.

oops my bad.. anyway. I don't think it's worth the hassle unless you can get all the parts really cheap. Might as well get a cheap used DFI setup.

just keep the 93 system the way it is, it has many advantages... especially no stupid MAF. Just get a nice chip and you're set.

As a 93 owner I say its not worth it, no point in converting over. Only thing I would do is the 94 Intake Manifold with fue rails and 24lb Injectors.
