How close is too close for exhaust to fuel lines?

I am getting ready to fab up a dual kit and I noticed that where I want to run the pipe it would be really close if not touching the fuel lines. So how close can they be? Is there anything that I could insulate the lines with so it wouldnt matter how close they came to each other.

Some sort of heat shielding. I used a thin sheet of metal when i had a cats on my longtubes to cover the lines there. You could also bend them a little out of the way.

You can see the shield i added here on the left when i had my new Y made after the one with cats.

I used a roll of heat shield tape and some zip ties (the adhesive on the tape didn't last too long). Got the tape from Jegs, its got an aluminum coating over an insulated fiber cloth--works well....

In a couple places, I think my Y-pipe is an 1 1/2 from the lines. I was told the tape can actually touch the headers/exhaust without burning.

The best scenario is that theyre NOT touching and that the insulation you put on it is not touching either.

why not just relocate them to run along the inner rocker panel? Then you don't have to worry about it. Fuel line is really cheap it shouldn't be that hard to do. That's what I was planning on doing when i did my duals this winter.

That is the best idea I just didnt want to have to mess with moving them but I probably will.

Just like altjar said. I welded in a plate to interrupt the heat transfer. Seems to have done just what it was supposed to.
