How to clean IAC

Hey guys:

How do you go about cleaning out the IAC. I cleaned my TB last year and think I got some gunk that ran into the IAC.

Thanks,
Asim

Some spray TB cleaner and a toothbrush and you might want to clean the passages in the TB. Don't push or pull on the pintle or turn the key ON when you have it disconnected.

I think that is how I got into the spot of needing to cleaning the IAC. I sprayed TB cleaner in the and scrubbed with a toothbrush. I think some of that carbon got onto the IAC. What is the best way of cleaning it?

So I just un-screw and pull out. No need to remove the TB?

There is also a gasket thats between the TB and Intake area, so just be very careful not to break it and you can reuse it, or just get a new one from GM, I'm sure shoebox's page has a P/N for it.

Since we're talking about TB gaskets, what's up with teh rubber POS gasket under the top cover of the TB. IT's very obviously not impervious to oils as it swells up and is then pretty much unuseable. Can the cover just be sealed up with a thin bead of silicone around the perimeter sealing area?
