How to Choose Heads......

I have a 97 6 speed lt1. I have the lt4 hot cam "kit". Intake exhaust Jet-hots no cats no egr no AIR. I want to go with a set of heads, but am not sure how to even start looking. Who makes good ones. Do i want/need bigger valves.
Can someone point me in the right direction.

Re: How to Choose Heads......

Let Loyd Elliot port your stock heads.Go with 2.00 in.intake and 1.56 exhaust and get the valves with +.100 longer stems,so in the future you can go with more lift. You will need springs, valves, retainers, locks and seat cups and pushrods.Get the springs to set up at 140#seat-350#on the nose@1.850 installed height. This will set you up for .700 lift in the future,if you want more HP and bigger cam.If you have to buy valves anyway, set them up for the future. If you put the springs on now,you won't have to change them later.

Unless you have an extremely high HP goal (more than 425 to the wheels), or are going to run turbo/supercharger/large volume of nitrous, then just stick with the stock LT1 castings.

Check out http://www.advancedinduction.com and you can see the results of his work along with prices on his page.

I had my head done by him and he puts lots of care and effort into his work making sure you get back what you pay for.
