How to check if opti is bad?
I was wondering how I can check to see if my opti is bad... What do I look for? It is off my car currently so taking off the cap and such isnt an issue... Should I just throw a cap and rotor kit on it anyway? My car has had a bad oil leak for the last few months (about 2 quarts per oil change, so I quit driving it) out of the opti seal and the water pump drive seal. Would this affect it? It does not "appear" that there is oil making it to the inside but I have not taken it apart yet.. It just seems my car does not idle like it should and it runs pretty rough... Yes I know my cam lopes a bit but it doesnt sound right to me... Thanks in advance...
Re: How to check if opti is bad?
Well, depending on what miles you have on there and if your wallet is healthy, I would, and seriously, put a new one on, unless you like taking it off and putting it back on again. Its, for the effort, cheap insurance, and (here is the good pert) you can donate it to me for science and testing purposes.

What else should I look for when I have the cap off?
