how can I test the window switch
how can I test the window switch
I noticed it has 5 connectors, so I don't know where to hook up my volt meter. As soon as I get in the car the passenger window will not roll down, after a few minutes it rolls down without a problem, same thing with it going up. I hate to replace the motor if its not broke, and I hate to buy switches also. neither switch Driver-pass. side will work right for it.
If neither switch is actuating the window, odds are that the motor is failing. If it was only one switch, I may be inclined to think switch failure, but seeing as how it's both sides, I'd just go with the motor. They're notorious for it, and I've never heard of a switch going out.
mine acts up also....
when i got it...the windows worked fine...and then the passenger side window started to slow down
now it is to the point where the passenger side window doesnt work at all from the driver side switch and it works when i reach across the car and press down on teh passenger side switch....one day it totally stopped while my brother was working it but other than that it has been fine....my driver side window hasn't given me any trouble...

If it does not roll down when you first get in the car, it does not sound like the motor is overheated, since you have not been using it. The switches are fairly inexpensive. It still could be the motor, but might be the switch or it's connections, too.

Ya your right, I don't think its over heating cause it does it when I first get in the car. Also I think if one switch is dead the other might not work, I'm not sure. The reason so is I just pulled off both panels to hook in new speakers, when I tryed looking the doors or rolling up the windows it wouldn't unless all the switches where hooked up, of course this might mean it just needs to be hooked up to complete some type of circuit-thanks for the schamtic.
actually u might wanna try bangin on the motor a little bit cause i was workin on one today that just didnt work at all, tested the switch, the wire to the motor and everything was fine, so i just decided what the hell and got my hammer and banged on the motor a bit and tried it again and it started workin. so this might be worth a try.
