How can I tell what year my engine is?
My car had a new motor in it when I bought it. I've been told that in order to reprogram my computer I need to know what year it is. Can anyone help me? thanks in advance.

look at the opti.
Is it vented?
If no then the motor is 92-94.
if it is vented then look at the timing cover at the bottom by the crank.
Is there a Crank angle sensor?
If NO then it is a 95.
If YES then it is 96-97.

i figured i would throw the 92 in there because you could possibly get a vette motor because they were pretty much the same till the lt4. and in 97 the f-bods had lt1's not vettes.
