how can i jack this up this high?

I need to get the car 36" up in the air to get the hooker long tubes in. Biggest jack/stands i can find are 24" Im about to pile a cinderblock onto the jack and lift the car up and go under there and slip em in and lower it back down. Dont wanna die putting headers in though. Suggestions?

i wouldnt see why you need 36 inches...i installed and removed my jethot long tubes with plain old 20 dollar rhino ramps from walmart and it took no time at all
i wouldnt think there is much differance between the 2 brands

I'm just gonna install my headers and ORY and put the cutouts on at a later time. Why do people disconnect the battery when doing headers?

man i dont know where yall are getting all this removing stuff from....all i did was pull the motor mount bolts and pull the car on ramps and then jack up eack side of the motor...never removed the starter...took a while to get the header bolts out but after that...maybe 1 hour to remove the headers and add the long tubes
oh yea i did have to remove the steering shaft from the rack to the rag joint

Your just lucky then. SOunds like all the little tolerances may have just built up and given you the extra 1/4' or so that you needed.

Both of the 4thgens I have done required removal of the starter, motor mount bolts, and loosening of the front cradle, with the front end Waaayyy up in the air.

What kind of headers are you installing? I am thinking of getting some Flow Techs. Are they ok?

If your working around the started without disconecting the battery put the car in neutral if its a M6

Ground out the right wire and the starter turns the motor over, then the car moves forward if the rear wheels are on the ground which in turn tips the jackstands over that the front is on. Ask me how i know...

Re: how can i jack this up this high?

Im installing hookers, the instructions call for 36"s in the air. I have it at 18" at the bottom of the ground effects right behind the front tires. I tried slipping the headers in and it needs more of an angle to slide up then tip in it seems. Im probably gonna go head and pull the mount bolt and see if taht will help me. I really do not want to play with lowering the engine cradle at this time. How long are those 6 bolts holduing it all in? I hear about peopel lowering it a few inches, the bolts that long???

Oh and i got my hands on some reallly tall 6 ton SUV jackstands and a 30 or so inch tall hydraulic jack. Might pile some wood on top of that and bring her up. I have the back tires up on rhino ramps. Worst case scenario i know a guy with a lifted truck that has a hydraulic ack that goes over 4 feet high!

I'll probably be putting all 4 jack stands underneath my car so the back wheels aren't on the ground, will I still need to disconnect the battery and starter?
