How big of stall?

My tranny just went out so while it is being rebuilt i am going to have my stall rebuilt. I have a 2800 midwest now but i was thinking of getting it loosened up to 3400ish. What do you think? Also i just bought a daily driver so not to worried about gas mileage.

My next converter will be a 3600 and I'm sure I don't pull as many rpm as you do. If your looking for the best track times possible you might want to think higher.

We usally do 3200-3600 on close to stock cars... With your cam i'd look into a 4000rpm or a bit higher if i were you. Especially since its not a daily drive and you can go a bit crazier :-D

With a CC306... i'd at least go with a 3600 stall. Generally you want to go with a stall 500 rpm below your peak tq rpm.

WOW, You really don't see too many LTx cars running 4K stalls, LSx stuff yeah, but the general high stall LTx is in the 35-3600 range...

Re: How big of stall?

With a CC306 you need at least 3800-4k converter. My Precision converter would go 4400 on the T-brake and leave awesome. I am having it tightend up a little and rebuilt after 2-1/2 hard years of abuse. Later Clint

Re: How big of stall?

32-3600 should be enough on on a cc306.

Re: How big of stall?

Loyd suggested for my application either a Yank SS 3600 for street car/strip car, or all out race car 4400 Stall. I'm afraid of the 4L60E tanking a Dump though!
