how bad is it not to change the PVC valve?
how bad is it not to change the PVC valve?
I just changed mine today, and I have owned the car since it had 53,000 miles on it and now it has 75,000. Never had I changed the PCV vlave before, and not sure if the previous owner has either.
I havnt driven it yet, so I cant tell you if I feel a difference.
I also cleaned my K&N air filter today, it was lookng pretty dirty when I took it out. But now its all clean and oiled up.

It was only about $2 after tax, I think less...not sure, but it was cheap. I just went ahead and changed it. It feels a little smoother, but that could probably be just my mind or a combination of the cleaned filter and the valve. Either way, I am happy that I know my car is treated well
If you do decide to go with a new PCV, I've heard nothing but good stories from GM factory parts...
But, I just took mine out two weekends ago and rattled the ball. It was very good, but I washed it with some Seafoam Deep Creep and it is in great condition. I've heard of non-synthetic oils sludging the PCV but a simple cleaning typically will get it working again.
