An automatic is generally much more forgiving on the rearend than a manual. I wouldn't worry too much.

I agree, I've done plenty of 1.7x 60's before my cam on ET Streets. A friend of mine has pulled a 1.48 60' on his 10 bolt and it survived.

I have ran 7.50 in the 8th with all stock gears and everything.with a best 60ft of 1.63 but I have broke a richmond 3.73 gear...

3+ years of street/strip abuse. Only 1 gear set broken. 60fts. in the 1.5's with ET Drags.

So, would you guys say that I shouldn't expect any major problems with a basically stock LT1 motor running with mods in sig and slicks?

That would be good news. I just bought my car, and was getting nervous with all the talk of weak 10 bolts.

the 10 bolt is a weak rear and yes most a4 are more lucky than us m6s. but just remember it is a 10 bolt.

i think there was one guy on this board that went through 3 rears an had a a4. but someone may not have known how to set his gears up.
