Stock bottom end, LT4 HOTcam, ported heads, 2800 lockup stall, SLP mids, 3.23 gears and PCMforless tune. On a 70% interstate/30% city trip I got 22 mpg.

There was a certain moderator of the LT1 tech section who had an F-body that put down 399 rwhp with some nice heads and a HOTcam. He had a six speed in it, and I would wager that his car would have gotten better gas mileage than mine. I do see what you are saying though, but honestly the heads will make or break you power-wise.

You need 383 with high compression pistons (11.5:1) and all supporting mods and GREAT tune , to get 400RWHP with hot cam. Sure it is possbile, but I dont think that he will got 16MPG in the city driving out of this setup.

My car has all new oxygen sensors and fuel filter, plugs, wires, and was dyno tuned by Bryan from pcmforless and I cant even get close to that. My highway MGP is excellent 23-25MPG, but city MPG sucks a donkey *****

Well, Im sorry but i had a mail order tune when i went into ed with more driveablity issues we wont even get into here. ed took me from 387 rwhp to 417rwhp 498rwtq and drives about like stock with a 2800, The car has only seen the highway, is when it is goes to the track. And if i drive like a grand ma then i feel sorry for any car you guys drive I drive a Kia everyday though so i only drive on weekends usually.

I didnt say you cant did I I said I dont give a ****. I dont mod it for gas milage. Thats why I have a 30+mpg beater to drive. I really dont care how good of milage I get.

Re: how about some mpg #s

My car was also dyno tuned (read carefully), not a mail order tune!!! We spend over 2 hours tuning my car, and I picked up 17RWHO (over mail tune), but my gas mileage didn’t changed too much...

Sebastian where'd you go to get dyno tuned. I was thinking about Cartek in NJ or East Side in CT but haven't decided yet.

The most i ever got with just bolt ons was 20mpg strictly highway and about 16 mixed. Maybe my mileage will get better with the 383
