I just finished my hotcam install yesterday and everything seemed to be fine. I am running the stock program for now. The car runs fine except at idle. In park and neutral it will idle normal but as soon as I put it in drive or reverse it will idle down to around 400 rpm. A few times it has stalled out when applying the brake at a complete stop. I have scanned the computer and the results looked something like this....

B1 BLM long term was very rich staying around 108 at idle but jumping back up around 128 at cruising speed

B2 BLM long term was normal running just a little lean around 134 at idle

MAP at idle was high at around 50 compared to the BAR which was 104

IAC count at idle is anywhere from 38-50.

The car runs fine except when it gets down under 1500 rpm then it will surge a little but i associate this with the stock tune.

Any one have any ideas?

 

I got PCMforLess with the LT4 conversion. Mine's idle at 1K in park and about 800 in drive with the brakes on.

 

have it tuned and she will run like a champ!!

 

Tuning is definitely a problem on a stock PCM with a new cam.

my Hot Cam idle really low too (500-600 RPM) I had to put it in neutral at stops so that it wouldn't idle or die out, or load up my plugs cuz it was pretty rich.

Get a Hot Cam specific tune and u'll be fine. U want to idle around 900-1000 RPM.

 

I have the hotcam w/pcmforless chip and the idle in park is ok, but when I put it in gear it gets real low and the rpms jump up and down a little, the oil pressure guage, and the voltage guage as well, it doesnt ever stall, even with the ac on, it's real rough. Whats your guys idle in gear warm set at? I'll have to see what the disired idle speed it set at on mine tomorrow.

 

that's typical for a hotcam on a stock tune - it will run but not that great at idle or when it first goes in gear. Ideally you need a tune to up the idle level, add a couple of points of advance and a few other small tweaks. I upped my idel to 1000 RPM but that's in a M6.
