Hotcam with blower guys

Hey guys I'm trying to start planning out a blown 396 stroker over the next few years, probably a procharger D1 running around 15-20lbs. I know a lot of guys say to run a blower cam but I've also heard good things about the hotcam in regard to blowers, and that's what I'm running now on my NA. Any experiences, good or bad? Note that at this time I'm not looking for *advice*, ie "use a blower cam," but experiences.

Thanks,

Rob

If you're going with a blower, why would you use a hot cam, which is an extremely mild cam? I would think you would want a more agreesive cam to maximize the boost.........

If your gonna put all that work into that your car then i would fork out the extra money and get yourself a nice blower cam to acomidate(don't think it's spelt right) the blower.

This topic has been covered several times. It's not the Hotcam's duration, or even lift, that disqualifies it as a good blower cam. It's the lobe separation. A good blower cam will have appox. 114-116 degrees of lobe separation. 112 (hotcam) is too tight, and will allow your hard earned boost to blow right out the exhaust.

No one is saying you can't use it, or that you can't get decent numbers. It's about doing it right and maximizing your combo.

Yep. You'll notice that all blower grinds use a lobe seperation of no more than 114LS. The 112LS on the hotcam makes it less than ideal for use with forced induction.
