My cousin had the hotcam on his old 96 impala. Not sure exactly what setup he was running but i know he had the same exhaust and headers as me.. the thing was pretty nasty, and sounded awsome. I would think any longtubes would be fine

See mods in sig. As far as for pushrods, I just got a cheap set of hardened off ebay for $30. No problems yet and has been 6 months. The hot cam is not a drastic cam that will put enough strain on pushrods to bend them in my experience, assuming no other power adders of course. I have installed it in 2 different engines with these same push rods. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Oh yeah, still rollin stock lifters too.

Snareman....

You need to add a "signature" with basic info about your car.... year, model, tranny and any major mods. For example, the LT4 ED timing set mentioned above requires the 95-97 vented Opti.... so it won't work if you have a 93-94 and haven't done a vented Opti conversion.

Also kits are nice. However the LT4 springs are made for the lighter LT4 valves. They do work on a LT1 head but you can do much better in springs.

i did the conversion on my 93 also did the opti conversion i would at least change lifters just to be safe i went with the comp cam lifters. The pushrods should be fine i do have hardend pushrods cause i have a 93. i recomend the pacesetter long tubes do to price and quality. I would buy a new lt4 timing chain for the added insurance and miles on the car. ps i did spin a rod bearing right after the install with only 99000 miles. also get a good tune

Yep, pull it on the highway with a Hotcam, and the car will self-distruct.

What they meant is that is an "off road" application, since it can't legally be installed in an emissions controlled vehicle. It does not have a CARB certification use, so you can't   use it on public roads, just at the track.

I would go with a stock timing chain.

Get a good pushrod....summit has a good one under there brand that is cheap $85 or so in a 7.150 .083 cm

Get a better valve spring too...the springs in the kit are not very good. You will like that cam, its a good set-up IMO
