This cam doesn't have much of a bad idle. It's been a while but I believe it was only 2200rpm stall. For sure no more than 2400rpm.

Man is there anyone I can call... So far I've got seperate replies from 2200 stall to 3200 stalls. They say the powerband is 3000 to 6500. Is that true?

I don't have a 383, but I do have an LT4 HC setup. I've got a 2400 rpm stall, and I'm happy with it. It's not crazy-high over stock, and it's enough to throw the car up to its powerband nicely.

On the same token, I still wanted to keep the car extremely driveable, and was not willing to sacrifice driveability. I PERSONALLY wouldn't go with over around 2600rpm of stall.

I am running a 3600 vig right now but when I ran 109 - 110 traps I was running a 3200 Vig. I am probably gonna go back to the 3200 now. It really woke up the cam!! Before 3200 I ran a best of 12.90 and a best MPH of 106. With the 3200 I ran a 12.30 with a best of 110.34 mph. I got greedy by going with the 3600 stall in hopes of an 11 second run on stock heads & it is just to in-efficiant in my opinion. Hits a wall up top. 3200 is optimal.

S.J.S.,
You seem supprised by the different responses. Remember there is no right answer, we're all doing this for differnet reasons. Mine was in an 87 Corvette that was my daily driver that I didn't race. So I didn't need the higher stall and didn't want the extra associated heat.
Smokin' obviously drag races a lot, and wants the higher stall.

So now you have to decide. How am I going to drive my car and what kind of street manners do I want it to have?
