Question Horsepower Help

Hey guys,

I need some advice... I have a 94 Trans Am with 102K miles and the car is pretty much stock except for exhaust. I'm looking to get a good 30-40 more HorsePower. Any suggestions which way I should go, either heads/cam/air??? I don't want to spend more than $400-500 on parts.

Thanks

Jared

You could do a nice CAI and a set of shorty headers. Or juice is about 500, but that would be just a bit more than 30-40 hp

a CAI is almost a MUST, since you'll be breathing better out, you need to breath better coming in. that should pick up about 10hp for about $100-200 depending on new or used.

and then i'd suggest a set of headers as mentioned. those should gain you another 20hp or so. i'd suggest used so you can keep your buget in tact.

you could also look into a ECM tune by either www.pcmforless or Madwolf. i think they are both about $100 for a re-tune and that should help take advantage of the intake and headers.

As was suggested, a CAI and a set of used headers could accomplish your goals.

Hey guys thanks for your input!
Do you think a highflow cat is a waste of money?

It is (a waste) unless you have a highly modded car.
