Your car was rated from the factory with 275 net hp at the crankshaft (brake horse power). Your actual rear wheel hp will be considerable less. Rear wheel hp is what everybody talks about. With out opening a huge debate on which model of chassis dyno is most accurate. You truly would need to put your car on a chassis dyno to figure rwhp. That being said there are some math formulas out there that take the race weight of your car and 1/4 mile et and/or 1/4 mile trap speed to figure estimated rwhp. Try not to get caught up in adding all advertised aftermarket component horse power increases. Example: CAI =10hp, Catback = 15hp etc. etc. The bottom line is what your car will do on the track. Besides the track is the most fun anyway

I would say around 285-290 at the crankshaft, and around 245 at the rear wheels assuming 15% drivetrain loss.

My stock SS dyno'd like 252 rwhp with a bad opti so I think 240-250 is in the ballpark. Maybe another 8-10 with a CAI. Keep up the mods and dyno to know what you have for sure. Guessing at rwhp is like picking a niddle in the haw stack

Look at his mods! An air foil, K&N filer, and a flowmaster muffler. Those arent gonna do anything great for your numbers. If stock crank hp was 275, he may now have 282 or so!

Now unless the K&N is a CAI or just a filter he may have about 287 now!

A manual is gonna make better numbers on the dyno. Did you have the cutout open when you dynoed the car? That shouldve helped a good bit.

i actually never dyno'd the car, and i wasn't talking about rwhp, i was just comparing the stock hp from factory at the crank, but i was told that maybe taking out my catalytic converter was good for approx 10 hp, maybe the rest was good for 5 i believe.
also i was wondering if the 96 camaros came from factory with 285 hp just because they went to dual catalytic converters, i think taking mine totally out should count for something perhaps, i hope anyways.
