Horrible vibration

I have a horrid vibration through my drivetrain at about 1650-2000 rpms and then it mellows out and on and off while im driving you can tell its just not smooth... Now it vibrates either while driving or just sittin there in neutral, clutch out or in dont matter... what could this problem be? Bad motor? or maybe anything to do with harmonic balancer maybe?

Also think i might have bad cats could this cause a problem of vibration?

I think its a dead cylinder. It happened to me before. It would misfire on and off. It was only noticeable at those RPM's. and it would only misfire randomly.

Also try to push the EGR diapragm in and and out to see if its stuck open. stuck closed is not a problem at all.

If you have bad Cats you get compression build up on the exhaust and the engine will overheat and have no power..... you are talking about bad vibration so I doubt is the cats.
