Hooker LT Headers

I dont know much about headers, but I do know I'll be getting the Hooker Long Tubes Ceramic Coated soon. Do these bolt on right to the factory y-pipe? Do I need oxygen sensor wire extenders or anything other than just the headers?? Thanks in advance

They do not bolt up to the stock y-pipe and you will need O2 extentions. FYI, Hooker's don't have O2 bungs welded in them.

They don't bolt up to the stock ypipe, the O2 bungs ARE welded into them if you get them from www.ls1speed.com

24" o2 extensions at least. You'll want 1406 Felpro D port gaskets(thunder racing) and 3" copper collector gaskets(ls1speed). Other than that, besides either the hooker ypipe or custom one, yer set. I recommend changing plugs and wires since you're there.

You will need to get some kind of aftermarket y pipe, or you could do a custom x pipe and true duals, it will sound sweet. The hookers do not have the o2 bungs but the jet hot headers do.

hooker lts

They DO NOT bolt up to the factory y-pipe. You can get the hooker y-pipe or have one custom made at a muffler shop. You will need o2 extensions and egr block off plates if your avoiding emmisions. You will also need rear o2 sims or you'll need to send your pcm to get the codes programed out or a obd2 to obd1 conversion performed. Other things to think about while you're in there (plugs, plug wires, new o2 sensors and possibly ovc brackets). Hope I helped

I'll restate it again. The Hooker Long Tubes DO come with the O2 Bungs welded in. I asked Jon at LS1Speed.com on the phone and he said they come welded in. I'm trusting his word. I'll know for sure this week when I get them. But as far as I know, they come welded in.

They don't come with emissions either.

As a general rule, Hooker Long Tubes DON'T come with the 02 bungs welded in. They are an option from Hooker or from Jet Hot, I can't remember which.

Depending on the vendor you order from, they might include them in the price though.

Thanks guys, you've been a big help. You just saved me a big headache when I was gonna order those Hookers. I'm gonna purchase the Jet Hot Long Tubes so the 02 bungs will be up top, and I will have a custom exhaust place around here make it a true dual with a cat and resonator on each pipe. I would like to get side exhaust infront of each back tire, I think that would look awesome on one of these cars, and totally unique. I'm just afraid its illegal because theres passenger seating at that point in the car..Let me know what you think about that setup.

I saw a mustang today with side exhaust that looked great. I think a camaro with skirts and side exhaust would look sweet any one know of any pictures?

If I remember correctly, Thunder sent the headers to Jet Hot to have the coated and have the O2 bungs welded in. All I know is that when I got'm back they were in. I currently have the Random Tech y-pipe but want to switch to the Mufflex pipe. The shop that welded up the Random pipe for me did a shi$$y job. Thunder carries the Mufflex pipe. As stated by others go ahead and change out plugs/wires and O2 sensors.

FWIW...I've only heard bad things about the Mufflex y-pipe. If you get a custom y-pipe made, be sure you choose a shop that is capable of making good bends on your pipes, preferably mandrel bends.
