Hooker LT driver side clearance....

Hooker LT driver side clearance....
OK, first of all thanks for reading my whining yesterday.... Now that the header is in, looks like I might have some issues with the tranny crossmember. I will grind the lip down, but even without that lip, it looks like the y-pipe (also hooker) might not go in.
Here's a picture of the clearance. The top of the flange is only like 1/3-1/2 inch away from the floor. Could this be because of the new motor mounts?
Anyway, let me know what you think while I'm extending my o2 wires here...
Thanks!

It will help a lot to grind that lip down on the crossmember. Seeing how you have the Hooker y-pipe, it also has the "dent" in it to help clear the crossmember. My setup clears it barely, but still hits up against it sometimes on the road. I've tried pulling down on the header, also. But I don't think that helped out too much

Yep, you will need to grind down the lip - try and stay out of the area right around the "bend" as you will loose alot of strength if you grind that out.
I ended up having to put a prybar in my old ones and bent them down alittle. The other option is to get some heater hose and place it between the y-pipe and x-member. A little more vibration, but you won't get banging.
If you are making a custom y-pipe the easiest thing to do is just angle the pipe down a bit near the x-member.
