I just got done installing my side mount wire looms and I was going to bolt my headers up to see how they fit. Luckily I did this before trying to install the motor and then trying to install the headers!

The headers are casted so that they hit the brackets that the side mount looms attach to! So I had to modify my headers. I cut 2 small chunks out of the headers. I had to cut 90 degree angle cuts to take out a small triangle to get the headers to fit flush with the heads. This did not interupt the gasket area and is just reinforced area to hold the headers up/topgether. It was about a 1/2" piece removed, but none the less needed to be done.

Anyhow, just thought I would share just incase anyone was thinking of getting the side mount looms from thunderracing.com

Or you could have gotten the top moutns and not have done anything of that nature

 

Very true. However I like the look of the sidemounts.

 

Ha, good to know. I was gonna get the side mount with my Jet Hot headers, but I didn't want to run into any problems. Sounds decent to me

 

I'm running sidemount looms from Thunder Racing with Jet-Hot LTs and have no problems whatsoever. I'm not even close to having clearance issues with the brackets. Yet another reason to get Jet-Hot and not Hooker!
