which Honda ATF do I need for M6 dealer says type for auto or for manual trans

They seem to have two different kinds, from what I've searched I neeed Honda ATF Z1, well the dealer asked If I needed the auto brand or the manual trans brand. I thought or cars take the auto trans stuff, but am really unsure. Which is it

I switched to that Honda ATF trying to solve grinding on light shifts in the cold winter months and I have to say it is good stuff. The damned grinding didnt really go away but when the tranny warmed up the shifts were nice and smooth. Now, just a few weeks ago I replaced my clutch and went with the Mobil 1 ATF b/c it was easy to find where the Honda stuff must be bought at a Honda dealer. Anyway after switching to the Mobil 1 I have noticed no change between it and the Honda ATF... results my vary but in my case any higher priced synthetic ATF will likely do the trick.

I was thinking about going with the Mobil synthetic stuff, but I thought I read somewhere that synth was bad for our trans, something to do with the syncros or something. I don't know squawt about this trans so If anyone has heard this I'd like to know. I'd like the mobil instead since the honda dealer is real far away when I could go and get the other stuff in one minute

Try some of the GM rear addative...if its syncro noise(whine) it will quiten it considerably....it will take a couple of bottles. If its real grinding as you say it want help.
