Hold gas to floor to start, why?

Hold gas to floor to start, why?
Ever since the engine swap (with hot cam). Most of the time i have to hold the gas pedal to the floor to get it to start. I thought this was kinda weird but couldn't think of why? Any suggestions?

i though holding the pedal to the floor shuts off the injectors incase the car is flooded. Maybe you have leaking injectors so holding the floor drys it out and lets it start. Just a thought
