I dont believe you mentioned that you had a High idle before.....? you might want to be a bit more descriptive, by smoother do you mean its reving past certain rpms?

DESCRIPTIVE

WELL WHEN I changed the O2 sensor and the catalytic converter the engine ran smoother...as in it was stable it didnt shake and it just ran better.........the problem is just that like at 70 mph im like at 2500 rpm, and I got 2.73 gears!!!!

Well I took the throttle body off and cleaned the IAC and now at a stoplight my rpms ar like at 600 which is good. that kinda went back to normal...but still got the 70 moh rpm problem..hummmmmm

Does the car go above 3k rpm's now? You never stated if replacing the cat and 02's fixed that. also, you said your high idle problem is taken car of also, after you clean an IAC motor, it's best to drive it for about 4-5 miles over 40 mph so it can reset itself. A vacuum leak will also cause it.

So now the only problem I think you have is the high rpm's? Are you sure the car is shifting through all the gears? I have 2.73's in my 89 T/A, I can't remember what rpm's at 70. Next time you drive the car, pay attention to how many time's it shifts, and if it feels like the convertor is locking up.

I drove my car tonight, at 70 mph in 3rd gear it's 2500 rpms with 2.73's with a 255/50/16 tire.

You can also remove the battery cables for a few minutes to reset the PCM.
