High rpm vibration

Lately at above about 4k i have been getting a vibration throughout the whole car, my first guess was the driveshaft. But if anyone has any other ideas or had this happen to them please let me know so I can get it taken care of before I go to the track.
Thanks
-Mark

I get it through what feels like the right rear wheel the most, But I got that constant viberation too... What the hell could it be, Is it really only the driveshaft?

i'm with you guys. This is a new problem for me. I recently had the trans rebuilt and since then I have the vibration. It is only there if i have it in D and am around 40-50 MPH. Or if I am in any gear and floor it. I have a deenys HD alum. Driveshaft and a new B&M 2500 holeshot converter.

So any ideas whats causing this?

maybe a wheel balance and alignment will cure it
just a thought

Ended up being a bad plug wire and it was misfiring more noticeably at higher rpm's. Check your wires those of you that are having problems.

High RPM vibration = before the transmission
Unbalanced flywheel, engine missing, etc.

High MPH vibration = after the transmission
Unbalanced driveshaft, tires, etc.

... how about a high rpm/mph vibration?

1, 2, 3rd gears are fine. 4th & 5th shake the whole car horribly through what feels like the dash/centerconsole area, not the steering wheel. Or you can say the car shakes/vibrates in 5, 6th gears above ~85mph

> what are the chances it's the driveshaft VS tranny mount?

I do not notice any thunking when driving or shaking at lower rpms/speeds. *sigh* yes i've had my tires balanced, rotated, and wheels aligned

Or bad harmonic balancer like mine. Had a power steering pump fail and leak oil on my balancer, now it is starting to separate from the pulley. new one on order though.
