High RPM Pulsing Vibration - Load dependant
High RPM Pulsing Vibration - Load dependant
Hello all,
It's not an F-Body, but I thought I would call on the collective knowledge here to see if you had any ideas.
I've got a '96 Impala SS. LT1, 97K miles. Stock except for 2600 stall converter, 3.42's and a Dynotech driveshaft. New opti about 7k miles ago, and new tranny mount.
I have a high RPM pulsing vibration that comes on gradually at about 3800 rpm and contiues to get worse until it shifts. I feel it ONLY under load (WOT) and it does it in all gears. It does NOT do it if I hold the tranny in each gear and slowly climb up above 3800, so again, it's only under load, and it is rpm dependant, NOT speed dependant. No pulsing in park or neutral.
Harmonic balancer appears original, but I have scribed a line across it and it is not spinning on the ring. Tranny and converter have been replaced with no change.
Any ideas?
Thanx,
Joe
