High RPM miss? Power loss

Still fairly new to the boards but I did some searching and looked at other threads about high rpm miss and some possible solutions. I would just like a little input and thoughts from others as to what may be the best route for me.

The car is my 94 Z28 M6 with 16,000 miles on. It has a MSD 6A box on it.

Anyway, I replaced the plugs (NGK) and wires last summer (MSD) but I did not replace the coil. I believe the coil is still the stock piece.

Anyway, the car is fine down low but at around 4500 rpm (on the stock tach) the power just goes away. I had been feeling this for a few weeks, but thought my head was playing tricks on me.

Last night at the track did indeed confirmed my thoughts. I was running well off what I was running on my previous trip earlier in the year (and I was getting better traction yesterday) Last time I was at 13.8 and trapping in the upper 101s - low/mid 102s with the 4.10s (and the car was getting better but I had to get home) Yesterday my MPH was in the 96 range. My ET was like 14.5. In the same type of weather last year I was running 98 - 99 MPH with the 3.42s and generally running 14.0.

Something is not right, but some leads to get this fixed would be nice. Do any places scan cars for free to pull codes or anything. Would this necessairly be pulling a code?

Thanks,

Brandon

Cool

Sounds like a sweet ride.Might change the coil wire first. My msd (wire)lasted 6 months, but the rest of the wires are pretty good.Try a stock coil wire for kicks.(around $13.00 here somewhere.)Next, disconnect the msd box, back to the original igition set up,and see if this helps.(Bad box?).My02
