High idle issue

Would a broken Coolant sensor on the driver side head cause the car to idle high all the time around 2k like a warm up process? or is it another issue?
Thanks.

The sensor is only for the dash gauge and is not for any other purpose i believe. Does it idle smooth or does it vary or sound like a miss?
