Here we go again :^(

Couple issues that are starting to arise.

All pretty much happens randomly.

irratic idle, sometimes while idling at a light and sometimes in park.

missfires while driving usually when not fully warm.

The weird part is that when it misses there's no idle problem and when there's an idle problem its not missing. When I put it to the floor it feels as strong as ever. these problems seem to occur when I'm driving it like a caddy.
Recently had the injectors cleaned and there are no SES codes.

Any ideas? Thanks

edit: I lost a header bolt a a couple others were loose. I tightened them, never noticed any leakage.

Could I have a vaccum leak somewhere? Would that explain these issues?

Sounds like classic EGR symptoms; your sig doesn't indicate if you still have it or not .

Yes, the egr system is still intact. I looked over the connections and vaccum lines but nothing seemed out of place..

---> Today I had to put it in neutral at a light because the rpms were so jacked... It bounced a couple times from 500ish (almost died) to 1500ish. Still no SES light....

(IAC is only 5 or 6 months old)

If it was a leaky injector I would get a o2 code right?

foung something

While investigating the EGR I found a bundle of wires running up the rear of the engine that was starting to get roasted, they were touching the metal hose from the rear of the intake to the exhaust. I untangled it and zip tied them to the trans dip stick tube. They weren't burnt but the plastic bundle holder was all melted and crusty.

Heres the question. Could the heated wires be causing the random issues? Maybe its luck but ever since its been ok. So far so good.
