Re: Here, TPIS LT1 Ported Heads Flow numbers
Lloyds heads are flowing more than those and cost less. I think his stage one has simular flow numbers and you also get a cam with them.
In my dealings with tpis I have found that they had good product but where almost always over priced.
Their current flow numbers are probably higher. Three years of porting heads on a bench should lead to higher numbers.

Re: Here, TPIS LT1 Ported Heads Flow numbers
i had a buddy with a 408 stroker LS1. Apparently with the ls1's it's critical to clean out all the coolant in the steam ports and all the other little ports in the heads and block before reassembly or else the blocks/heads can crack. Well, he had the stroker built by tpis, and after a few hundred miles his block split, and he go coolant in the oil and the motor seized. Eventually, they built him another engine but they certainly did a good job of trying to blame him and blame everyone else first.
just thought i would let you guys know

Re: Here, TPIS LT1 Ported Heads Flow numbers
True, LE heads are higher flowing.
What you have there, as you mentioned, are 'Stage I' heads. While there's no standard as far as what the flow #'s of Stage I, II, and III should be, Stage I is not going to be the most you can get out of a set of heads - as far as flow numbers, that is.
Remember though, these flow #'s are great for advertising, but the proof is in the time slip and/or dyno improvement if that's what you go by. I could have astoundingly high flowing #'s compared to you, but get dusted on the strip because they actually suck at making power.
Try to find actual results from these guys by those who've used them.
Said results are availble for the 2 biggies on this board - Lloyd and Phil. Can't go wrong either way with them IMO.
