alright, i have a 1979 t/a with an lt1 ..carbeurated.. and a piston shattered last week, so i have to get a new block, but don't want to go with a stock camaro, or buick cam, i read an article about a 420 horsepower set up with a carbeurated lt1 with HEI, long tubes, lt4 iron heads, and a hotcam.
1) is this possible?
2) can i get a bigger cam and have more output w/o having to to go with different heads?

 

You are talking about a Gen II SBC and not the original LT1, right?

Just want to clarify before I start spewing the wrong info...
