Exclamation HELP! T56 still 1/2" away from bellhousing

I am finishing up a clutch swap and I have the trans lined up perfectly with the bellhousing. Everything looks great, but it just won't go in that final 1/2" or so. Any tips to help it go in? Two bolts can be threaded in, and they are on opposite sides.

Do you have the clutch fork pulled out? If you don't, the trans won't fully seat.

Did you install a new pilot bushing? Are you sure the clutch is aligned properly? If there is a new pilot busgin in there, it will be a little difficult to get it in there.

I am sure that everything is aligned properly, and I did install a new pilot bushing. I attached the fork to the bearing, should I remove it, and attach it later? I just did it now because it was easy to see that it was on correctly. Any other ideas?
